1. Students must be on time for all classes. Attendance is essential for your progress in dancing. Perfect Attendance Awards are given out annually, effective October 1st to June 1st. Students absent more than 10 times in a season, September 1st to June 1st, will not receive credit for that year.
2. No make-up lessons are available.
3. Classes are graded to fit the child’s age and ability.
4. Classes are held in two large rooms, Studio A and Studio B.
5. Only dance students allowed in Studio A and Studio B rooms.
6. All Students are required to wear proper dance wear as stated for all classes. Girls must wear dance stockings with all dancewear. No Girls will be allowed to dance in T-SHIRTS, SWEATSHIRTS, STREET WEAR or PLAYGROUND CLOTHES.
7. No gum chewing in class.
8. All cell phones must be turned off before entering dance class.
9. A Sitting Room is available to observe classes.
10. Parents are allowed to observe all classes from the sitting room.
11. No smoking allowed in the studio or sitting room.
12. Younger Students are not allowed to leave the dance studio or wait outside for a Parent to pick them up.
13. The yearly season begins September to June. In order to get yearly credit, each child must attend classes from September to June and participate in the dance recital. Each student must be in the group dances and the finale to receive a yearly credit.
14. Students transferring from other Dance Schools must show proof of credit when attending the first dance class.
15. Achievement Award is given to students in the first revue. Yearly credits are counted from that revue to the next for a one year credit.
16. Yearly Certificates will be given as follows: First, Second, Fourth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Year.
17. Medals or Pins will be given as follows: Third, Ninth, Tenth Year and so on.
18. Rings will be given when receiving a Fifth Year credit.
19. Student Teacher Certificate, with Teacher’s approval, will be given to students having 10 consecutive years of credit, who are at least 15 years old before June 1, 2022. A Student Teacher Certificate will be given out to eligible students only after passing the Dance Examination in Tap, Ballet and Jazz.
If any present student takes a leave of absence, upon returning to the Labourdette School of Dance, they must have 10 years or more credit and be at least 15 years old before June 1, 2022. They must attend classes for 2 consecutive years, have Teacher’s approval and pass the Dance Examination in Tap, Ballet and Jazz to receive a Student Teacher Certificate.
20. Teacher Diploma, with Teacher’s approval, will be given to students having 10 consecutive years of credit, who are at least 16 years old before June 1, 2022 and have already received a Student Teacher Certificate. A Teacher Diploma will be given out to eligible students only after passing the Dance Examination in Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Acrobatics.
If any present student takes a leave of absence, upon returning to the Labourdette School of Dance, they must have 10 years or more credit and be at least 16 years old before June 1, 2022, They must attend classes for 2 consecutive years, have Teacher’s approval, received a Student Teacher Certificate and pass the Dance Examination in Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Acrobatics to receive a Teacher Diploma.
21. Transferring Students must have 10 years or more credit, be at least 15 years old before June 1, 2022, attend classes for 3 consecutive years with the Labourdette School of Dance and have Teacher’s approval before being eligible to receive a Student Teacher Certificate. A Student Teacher Certificate will be given out to eligible students only after passing the Dance Examination in Tap, Ballet and Jazz. The following year, with Teacher’s approval, they will be eligible to receive a Teacher Diploma. A Teacher Diploma will be given out to eligible students only after passing the Dance Examination in Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Acrobatics.
